A little history.

Maharaja Ganga Singh commissioned Lalgarh Palace in memory of his father, Lal Singh, and moved the royal residence here from Junagarh Fort. It was designed by Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob and built between 1902 and 1926.

The palace mixes Rajput, Mughal and European styles, with intricate stone lattice work carved from local red sandstone. Parts of it are now a heritage hotel, and the Sadul Singh Museum displays royal photographs and trophies.
