About Delhi

Why visit.

Delhi has been the seat of empires for centuries, from the Delhi Sultanate and the Mughals to the British, who built New Delhi as their capital in the 1920s and 1930s. Today it is India's capital and the arrival point for most journeys to Rajasthan.

Spend a day or two here to see the mosques and bazaars of Old Delhi, the Mughal garden tomb of Humayun and the soaring Qutub Minar, before heading to Agra or Jaipur on the Golden Triangle.
