Tiger Country · Rajasthan city guide
Dry forest, lakes and ancient ruins make Ranthambore one of the best places in India to see wild tigers, watched over by a thousand-year-old fort.
About Ranthambore
Ranthambore National Park lies at the meeting point of the Aravalli and Vindhya hills, around the town of Sawai Madhopur. Once a royal hunting ground, it became part of Project Tiger in 1973.
Its tigers are famous for being seen in daylight among lakes, ruined pavilions and the walls of Ranthambore Fort, part of the UNESCO Hill Forts of Rajasthan.
