The story

A little history.

Makar Sankranti marks the sun's move into Capricorn and the end of the coldest part of winter. In Jaipur it is celebrated by flying kites from dawn to dusk, with families gathering on rooftops across the old city.

Kite fighters try to cut each other's strings, cries of victory echo across the roofs, and as night falls the sky fills with paper lanterns and fireworks.
